Sex and the City + The Rug Company

If you are a regular reader of All the Best then you know that I have a soft spot for the creative duo Christopher and Suzanne Sharp, owners of The Rug Company. When I was last in London I got a personal tour of the store from the lovely Susanna Joicey-Cecil, complete with a cup of tea. And it seems that I am not alone in my admiration; Sex And The City set designer Lydia Marks turned to the most fashionable brand in British home accessories to create a few amazing interiors.

Echoing the theme of love, Lydia gives prime positioning to the “Love Too” wallhanging designed by Paul Smith for The Rug Company in Carrie’s apartment. The lucky Ms. Bradshaw got not one, but two gorgeous creations for her big screen makeover. The beautiful “Overleaf” rug designed by Marni for The Rug Company adorns the floor at the foot of the bed.

Sexy Samantha livens up her LA love nest with the striking “Chiesa Yellow” rug designed by Suzanne Sharp at The Rug Company. The luxurious hand-knotted Tibetan wool rug is the perfect setting for the romantic champagne and caviar session. Other pieces including Suzanne Sharp’s “Palazzo” and “Flake” can be seen online at The Rug Company.

i caught the 'love' rug placed in carrie's apartment, but somehow totally managed to miss the chiesa yellow rug, which is of course one of my favorites!! maybe i was too distracted by the matching sequined black robes...? thanks for pointing it out!

I was amazed to find out the rugs were from the Rug Company and so accessible to the public - Carrie's Marni rug is the only thing in her new apartment that doesn't make me miss her old one. I did a post about her apartment new vs. old, but I really like your take - i had no idea so much was used from TRC!

I would love to get my hands on the "Love" rug for my daughter's apartment. Yike's but Paul smith.. it must cost a small fortune. Thanks so much for sourcing these beautiful pieces for us!

I received the price list from the Rug Company. The price for the LOVE wall hanging is what I expected, a bit on the high side. If anyone is interested in the price list please drop me a note.

I saw the movie a second time not for the plot, the fashion or the sex but to get another looks at Carrie's new apartment. SO chic. I will miss her old style however. So much good time spent in that room, if only from my couch.

Who makes that beautiful blue shade on the walls in the bedroom, above Marni's awesome "Overleaf" rug? I am bursting to know what color it is so I can put it in my apartment!
