Nathan Turner lounging in Acapulco during the Christmas holiday.
I adore this photo of Nathan Turner, owner of Nathan Turner Interiors & Antiques in Los Angeles. Already an international jet setter from a tender age. Nathan's reflections are a great reminder at this time of year, "It was a very common thing in my family to travel to some sunny tropical location (Fiji,Tahiti or Hawaii) to escape the San Francisco fog and rain. It also taught us that Christmas wasn't all about the presents, as we would only get one present each on the trip, but it was usually a good one. Another lesson....quality over quantity!"
My favorite gift to give this year?
A great first edition book. In LA there’s an antique book dealer, Dragon Books, that has amazing stuff.
My favorite gift to receive?
My new black lab puppy Nacho!
My favorite way to celebrate the holidays?
Thanksgiving at my parent’s ranch. I love the outdoors and it’s the perfect setting for Thanksgiving….horses, dogs and the Sierra Nevada’s in the back ground…perfection!
For Christmas I actually love to travel and experience the holiday in a foreign country.
My favorite luxury in life?
Travel. Nothing makes me happier then experiencing new places and cultures, and food!!
My favorite current book?
David Sedaris’ When You are Engulfed in Flames
My favorite holiday song?
Any of the Bing Crosby holiday music, reminds me of my grandparents .
My favorite party clothes?
A navy velvet jacket I had made in Buenos Aires.
My favorite cookie?
I’m old school...nothing beats a really good oatmeal raisin.
My favorite city?
Stockholm…nobody does Christmas better then the northern Europeans!
My favorite place to shop?
In L.A. The Grove...it’s my guilty pleasure!
My favorite movie to watch again and again?
A Christmas Story and any of the funky animatronic holiday specials from my childhood.
How wonderful to be given the gift of travel when you are young!
ReplyDelete...another great one!
ReplyDeleteRonda - I am thoroughly enjoying the "favorite things" but one of my favorite things is the childhood pictures!
ReplyDeleteDarling photo of Nathan. Another great interview on favorites Ronda.!
ReplyDeleteThese are great, Ronda. I agree with Patricia, the childhood pictures are the best part - love them. Nathan was so cute - my brother had an almost identical bathing suit when we were little.
ReplyDeleteI lost my childhood photos, but I love looking at other's.
