The LIST: Cortney and Bob Novogratz

Seven kids and two cool parents will be the focus of a new TV show. BRAVO announces the new series Design SIXX. Self-taught designers and developers Cortney and Bob Novogratz have created a lucrative business transforming dilapidated buildings into upscale residences. Having refurbished or built from scratch more than 10 homes, the Novogratzes have a history of turning nothing into something, and creating real estate value where little existed before. Not to mention, they wear all the hats from general contractors to interior designers.

Their new book Downtown Chic includes the completion of their latest project—a 6 six-story glass residence facing the Hudson River. Downtown Chic, published by Rizzoli, is set to be released May 2009. You can read my full profile with Bob and Cortney published this past January.

  1. Ronda, thank you for introducing me to such a talented couple. Their design talents speak for themselves and it takes talent to run a household with seven children, own a design company and now have a TV show! I look forward to watching Design Sixx!

  4. What a great book and how I admire people who instead of bulldozing re-use, re-invent, re-use, restore!
I love their website and the music is fantastic, sexy and fun. Thanks for a nice discovery.

  5. Exactly what we need to get the economy turned around. I love dilapidated homes and buildings and envisioning my inner Snow White spiffing up the place with the help of a few good dwarfs. Amazing what a good scrubbing or a fresh swath of paint can do.

  7. I just added this book to my Amazon wishlist on Friday after reading their profile in the DC Magazine. I believe he's somewhat of a local.
