My husband and I leave a week from tomorrow for Berlin. I have only heard wonderfully amazing things about the city and culture. The lovely Toma Clark Haines (a.k.a The Antiques Diva) is hosting us for dinner and playing tour guide one day - very exciting. Before moving to Berlin Toma lived in Paris and spent most of her free time taking day classes at Le Cordon Bleu and Le Ritz Escoffier. Yum!
To be honest, I am really behind on my travel research. If there are any 'must' see or dos while in Berlin please let me know. Tausend Dank!
Thanks for the Shout Out Ronda! I can't wait to spoil you with foods & take you by the arm showing you the best places to stop, shop and roll out the dough in Berlin!

I just found your post on Berlin, I was just there in July & it is a wonderful city!
ReplyDeleteYou will have an absolute splendid time in Berlin! The week I spent with The Antiques Diva, othewise known as The European Lifestyle Expert, was a fabulous one! Each day was filled with fun, tours and delicious eats, yet I think my favorite day was tootling around the antique market with The Diva by my side; coaching me, laughing together, along with advising and helping me find great steals!!
I treasure all my finds now that I am back home stateside. You'll have a blast.
Bon Voyage!

Kep an eye out for anything built / designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel - responsible for the Altes Museum / too little known / master architect and furniture designer.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy.
Ronda,
ReplyDeleteCan hardly wait for your return post on this trip. It will be wonderful!
Have a great safe trip, take lots of snaps. See ya then.

Ronda,
ReplyDeleteYou will have a marvelous time, I know. Instead of giving you the location of the currywurst booth visited by Peter Falk in Wings of Desire (that's what my husband wanted to see and sample) I will recommend to you the Gemaldegallerie on Museum Island. It has magnificent European paintings including some Italian masterpieces, my favorites.
Have a wonderful trip.
