LONNY
What do you get "with a little help from your friends" and an overwhelming motivation to recreate the traditional magazine into a vast online, interactive publication?
You get Lonny, the new age version of a sadly missed shelter publication, Domino, scheduled to launch on October 1st. Created by Michelle Adams and Patrick Cline, who met at a Domino photo shoot a few years back, the new zine will be home to art, culture, fashion, and features. The site will allow subscribers to flip through pages like a traditional magazine and shop the pages with only a few clicks. Former Domino Editor in Chief, Deborah Needleman, Kate Townsend Simpson, and Eddie Ross will be contributing among others. Thanks to people like the above mentioned names who "believe in the achievement and future" of Lonny, the spark that inspired Domino will live on.
I have gotten to know Michelle over the past few years and I am truly inspired by her creativity. You can read Michelle's personal retelling of starting LONNY on her blog MA Belle.

well I used to wonder how print magazines would last with the net offering so much online for free, but of course it doesn't have to be free if it has a big enough following. Advertisers could easily pay even MORE than they do now to be on an online mag's website. So bring em on I say!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous, loved being able to thumb through the magazine online.
ReplyDeleteSo glas they are all back.
Thank you for sharing this Ronda!

This is going to be big, huge, I predict. Everyone is talking about it and it does fill a void...

ReplyDeleteHi Ronda, I've been waiting for Lonny to be released and I was pleasantly surprised this morning as I thumbed (clicked) through the magazine. It was nice to see Eddie and Jaithan's new country house too. How fun to create a new design aesthetic in a whole new setting! I wish the creators of Lonny the best of luck!
ReplyDeletelove it - fresh and ageless!

Great! This calls for a sweet little homecoming party with me and my gals. I'm thinking I'll project it onto my walls and sing Favorite Things. Cheers to Michelle and Patrick for making this happen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Ronda!
The Pacific Palisades Room is breath taking! The art work is so different and fresh from anything I have seen in a long time. I feel air moving when I look upon it.
