The Perfect Bath

If you are not familiar with The Perfect Bath, written by Barbara Sallick, then you must click here. Barbara is co-founder and Senior Vice President of Design at Waterworks. She brings a lifelong interest in design to her philosophy of modern bath style, employing formal principles of architecture and decoration to make this utilitarian environment as rich and livable as any other room in the home.

I had the pleasure of meeting Barbara in Venice, and she is as lovely as the blog she writes. If you love the bath (like I do) and believe that the bath is an experience that is inextricably tied to our happiness and well-being, then you will love this blog. Not to mention it offers tons of inspiration. Enjoy.

  1. This bath is even more breathtaking in person, the windows open up to stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. I was lucky to have worked on this project with Michael. One of best he has done.

  2. Ronda-
Just out of curiosity - which bath tub would you wish to fill if you had one from Waterworks? Barbara has really made bathrooms so much more than just coming clean.

  7. The timing on this is perfect!

I just met with a client this morning at the job site and we are making decisions on windows. I told her I would like to do a free standing tub in the alcove with the window behind it all the way to the floor...

She couldn't visualize a window that large and revealing behind the tub and wanted to see some photos with examples... this photo is a great example to show her!

  8. As we entertain the idea of updating our master bath, Waterworks is at the top of my list for ideas and resources. I will now have to check out The Perfect Bath!

  9. I LOVE a freestanding bath in front of a window like this.
Bathrooms should be designed with comfort, view and ambience in mind. I really dislike it when they are created with only 'practicality' in mind, as if having a bath is not all about pleasure... and what could be better than to breathe fresh air and look at the stunning view whilst doing it!!?

    Happy weekend Ronda!

  14. Ohh Ronda this looks fabulous! Nothing like a bubble bath to cure a stressful day. Can't wait to pick up a copy. If this image is any indication of what's inside I'm sold!
