Jay Jeffers
I am in the process of trying to convince my darling husband that yes, in fact, we DO need to wallpaper our hallway! It’s a large, long hallway (large enough for two armoires) that just cries out for a bold and fun design. When I found these photos of Jay Jeffers work, I fell in love!
Just look at the large foyer he transformed into a swank cocktail lounge, enveloped in a bold David Hicks chinoiserie print. His trademark approach to design is Sophisticated Fun—interiors that are luxurious but liveable, well-grounded, but never stuffy.

Great minds think alike Ronda - I posted this exact same room by Jay Jeffers last week on ABT - I looooooooooove the wallpaper. I actually have a picture of another house where they have used the same paper in the black and white colourway and OMG it looked amazing too!! I would love to see this used in a hallway - I think it would have the same sort of impact that the Imperial Trellis had in Chloe Sevigny's hallway!
OK, as I have been much maligned and (mis)represented as an innate contrarian, the “darling husband” feels he should note that his dear wife has a penchant for re-arranging the artwork on the walls. This amounts to a preoccupation that she attacks with great aplomb. AND, her full ‘vision’ is to create a gallery feel in the hall (I believe she has posted pictures to this effect before). I really like this idea – she is brilliant at decorating and designing our little flat and I think she could really pull this ‘concept’ off. HOWEVER, IF she follows her normal pattern of re-arranging the works on the walls very other month (only a slight exaggeration), then I feel that wallpaper might not be the best idea. Instead, perhaps bold colours (similar to those she has drawn attention to in previous posts)? This way we/I could easily patch and cover the myriad of holes that she tends to put in the walls.
(Just for full disclosure, I have posted and ‘approved’ this comment while the dear wife is off at the shops, otherwise she may decide to censor my little defence – hopefully dear wife is in a good humour when she reads this.)
Thanks for ‘listening’.
"darling husband", that is EXACTLY what my boyfriend would have said about me - did that ever make me laugh. Good luck (both of you)!
Yes, Kim, "darling husband" can be very amusing at time. Good thing that I ("dear wife") was in a good mood! :-)
Gotta love amusing "darling husbands" and "darling boyfriends" :)
I used to hate wallpaper but now they have so many yummy designs. Where I live right now all my walls are textured so I'm not able to put up paper if I wanted to but I'm moving so in my new house I'm sure I will find a place for some paper. Love the bold paper in this post.
I love this wallpaper. Great post.
