Edinburgh Series
I was recently having lunch with friends at Howies restaurant in Edinburgh, when I discovered the beautiful artwork of Kelly Stewart. Born in Sydney Australia, Kelly studied at the University of Western Sydney and moved to Edinburgh in 2000 to begin her illustration career. Kelly takes her inspiration from Victorian, Georgian and Gothic architecture and uses the medium of Silkscreen as a way to combine architectural sketches and hand-written text. I'm fascinated by the muted colors and sketching of the Edinburgh and Paris series posted above—simple, yet beautiful.

Her art is so fluid with loose strokes and I think they are charming.
These are so interesting and pretty. Edinburgh is one of my favorite places in the world. She has done a fantastic job capturing the "shape" of the city.
I love Kelly Stewart's art work.
I went on her web-site and it speaks for itself. I have added her to my resource file for artists and will get in touch with her to see about commissioning her to do a painting. I have just finished the Interior Design for an 80 year old Tudor home in Vancouver and I think her style would compliment this home. It would make a nice house warming gift for my clients. Thanks for profiling her work.
What beautiful little gems. It takes a very accomplished artist to do sketches with such strength and certainty, as every little mark counts.
Lovely Ronda. Thanks for another wonderful introduction!
Wow, it is so nice to see a new artist...these are fantastic and I bet even better in person. Thanks for sharing :)
