Got Questions?

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of ELLE Decor magazine, I will be speaking with Editor-in-Chief Margaret Russell for an All the Best interview. I will ask her my usual Proustian style questions, but I am curious as to what you might ask Ms. Russell given the chance.

So, if you have questions for Margaret, send me an email (allthebestblog@gmail.com) or leave a comment. I will select a few of the best and/or most interesting. Decor aside, I would love to know what facial products she uses or who takes care of her skin, she always looks amazing!

Postscript - Oh my goodness, my inbox is filled with questions! The most popular being, "When is Bravo's Top Design coming back?" As far as I am aware, the decision is still pending. You can always write to Bravo telling them to bring it back!

We have the same question. My question will be "what is her secret for a beautiful skin?"

I would love to know her take on the future of "magazine industry"- what lies ahead and what will it take to keep the greats like "ELLE Decor" alive?
(and that chunky signature gold bracelet, I have always admired, who designed that and was it a gift?)

I am seeing Margaret to-night at a cocktail party, do you want me to ask what she uses for her skin?????

She has amazing energy and is incredibly hard working and has supported my work and showroom.

Congratulations Margaret... Her vision for the magazine has kept Elle Decor's fresh, modern with a twist, a monthly must read.

I would love that Francine! That's one less question for me to ask! :-)

Please send me an email when you get a moment.

Best,

I became a fan of Margaret's when I saw her on Top Design. I couldn't quite pinpoint what it was about her that I liked, but finally the word "classy" popped into my head. She is definitely a classy lady. How funny that you mention her skin, because I was thinking, "don't write something stupid like 'I like her hair'". She always looks so good; I don't think I've seen her in an outfit that I don't like.

Can she invite you to be a guest on Top Design? And, how does she find the internet world changing the landscape of the magazine and design world? Finally, what are her favorite furniture sources for people on a budget?

I second the gold bracelet question. Love it! She has been inspired by so many incredible designers and spaces over the years, and I want to know about her own personal style and how she has decorated her own home!

I was wondering what her advice she could offer an aspiring interior designer. As students, its really helpful to get honest advice about what to expect and how to get our foot in the door.

Thank you for an opportunity to ask our questions - what an honor you have.

xx.

Does she feel confident designing her own interiors? She's surrounded by the best and brightest, it seems she wouldn't need a major amount of interior design direction in her own, personal abode(s).

I'd love to hear how she got where she is today. What steps did she take starting early on that eventually led to her sitting at the helm of a national publication? Can't wait to read the interview!!!

I guess I'm repeating a few, but I would also love to see her own home, so maybe ask when it will grace the pages of Elle Decor? And I would also love know what she thinks about the future of magazines vs. online content and the role of blogs.
