Shopping

After going through my wardrobe I've decided that there is nothing that I want to take to Paris with me this weekend, so I am off to shop...seems like as good an excuse as any!

No, silly, shop while you're there!

Hi Ronda, do keep in mind that most stores are closed (by law) on Sundays; one of the few areas where you will find open shops is in the Maris, rue des Francs-Bourgeois (metro Hotel de Ville/St Paul).
If you're pressed for time, one good place to see lots of brands in 1 place is a department store of course (open Sat., not Sun.), the Galeries Lafayette having the most spectacular decor (a sumptuous dome), and conveniently located very near landmarks like the Opera and the Place Vendome; the Bon Marche may be more convient for you if you're staying in the 6th. Either way, they're pretty high-end stores (think $$$$).

I love your attitude...and do as I do...pack an extra {empty} bag for "souveniers" as I like to call them! It works like a charm. And when you get home its like Christmas all over with all the new shoes and clothes. Another option is to ship your stuff but that's just not as much fun.
Have a GREAT trip.

Totally agree with mamacita. Why spend money on stuff you already more or less know? Jeans, a T and a cashmere cardi and off you go !

I say shop now and then shop in Paris too. I think that will solve the dilemma.

Sounds like a perfect reason to me. I give you the green light to shop, now show me the loot!
