I love hats! I have very fond memories of my mom taking me and my three sisters shopping for new Eater dresses and of course 'bonnets' each and every year. Even now as an adult it's just not Easter until I have my hat. I found these amazing Ascot photos on Flickr. Anyone else donning a hat this weekend?

I especially love the gentleman in the top hat - very distinguished looking!
Hi Tara. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Enjoying the UK very much!
I thought so too Mel. I bet Chappy would look good in one. :-)
I love hats! I know my limits and they look nice on me but I always feel too dressed up or fou fou in them.
But talk about carrying them off with panache!
Lovely post!
Happy Easter all.
The guy in the hat looks terrific. It's a shame hats for men have gone by the wayside and are now considered costumes really!
I know Cindy, there is a fine line... unless of course it's Ascot. Then you can go all out!!
I think you are right BTC and it is a real shame! He looks just great!!
I did a post about the wonderful Ascot hats last year and included a link to a funny BBC site which had the most hilarious comments about some of the hats.

This year, it's supposed to be chilly, so who knows what i will end up wearing!
Thanks Meg, I'll go and check it out!
I used to get a new Easter dress with a matching hat every year as well.
I want to start getting more hats but I have no clue where!
Of course they're easy to find in the UK. Most US department stores have them this time of year.
Great posting and timely with the Kentucky Derby coming up soon.
Good Morning
Great post - if I were to don a hat, it would be this beauty!

Oh Heather that hat is too fab for words!!! I LOVE it!
Thanks!! Now that I finally have a blog I can add your fabulous link.
Is it time to bring back opera gloves???
Heather
Hi again from Santa Fe...I read every day, but don't comment often enough about how great your blog is.
We simply don't have enough (or should I say any) opportunities to wear an elegant hat here. Who are your favorite milliners/hat shops?
Melinda
those all look like Derby hats to me! i love this time of year...and love your blog!
Ronda, you probably see so many more standout hats in the UK I'm guessing? More than even the in the Southern US?
I just LOVE hats and wear them often... But mine are a bit more sober than the ones on these pics!
Me too and thank you my little apartment!!
I love the feather hats at Ascot!
Hi Melinda! Thank you so much for your kind words!
I love Judy Bentinck's hats.
Ronda
xxoo
You don't see as many in Scotland Courtney, the Southern US has Scotland beat, especially on Easter Sunday.
Don't I wish! I don't know that I could carry off a fab hat like those, although the posters above are right--folks in the South are all about some hats, especially on Easter Sunday!
Oh AtB, of the 630 people at the 11:15 Easter Service, just two of the women were wearing hats. What a missed opportunity. I'm afraid that Mr. Dunne's book pictured at right may sum it all up...
Those are amazing!!!! I love your blog!
